As we thank Sally for a great job during her time as our
editor we find ourselves in transition. We are now
looking for someone to take her place as The Promises
Newsletter editor for the next two year term. Hopefully
you will have help from many others in this rewarding
service work. If you are interested in becoming the editor,
please advise Intergroup, or your Intergroup
rep.,
so that your name will be included in the
Nov/Dec. 2006 issue of the Promises as the new
editor. The new Editor will be taking over
editing for the Jan/Feb. 2007 issue.

TENTH PROMISE
"FEAR OF PEOPLE AND OF ECONOMIC
INSECURITY WILL LEAVE US."
This has been the toughest, slowest, slowest promise for me. The
Big Book chapter 9, page 123 says "... it may take him
many seasons of hard work to be restored financially ...
perhaps he will never have much maoney again. But the wise
family will admire him for what he is trying to be, rather than
for what he is trying to get."
For me success is different now. It is doing by being like the
title of a recent book by Marsha Sinetar says "Do What You Love
- The Money Will Follow". With the guidance and direction of a
Higher Power and the support of the A.A. fellowship, I truly
believe today my needs will be met. It is up to me to
pray, meditate, do the legwork, and leave the result to "The
Boss". That way the fear leaves before the economic
security or the impressing others comes back. And, it is no
longer necessary to pretend to be anything but real. Thank you
God and thank you A.A.

Service Group Meeting Schedules
Intergroup:
1st Monday of the
month 7:00 P.M
Intergroup will
hold 2007/08 elections for its officers in Dec.
District 22:
last Monday of the
month 6:30 P.M. (except for Dec.)
District 22 will have nominations at the
November meeting for the 2007/08 officers.
GSR’s in attendance are entered in a FREE Grapevine
raffle & entitled to 10 Free Beginners Packets.

The 4th Quarter WORKSHOP
will be in November; (hopefully), hosted by The New Beginning Group.
Location, Date, Facilitators,
Topic (hopefully "Intergroup, History-Service-Purpose) and incidentals
to be announced.
FIFTH STEP
"MADE DIRECT AMENDS TO SUCH PEOPLE WHEREVER POSSIBLE
EXCEPT WHEN TO DO SO WOULD INJURE THEM OR OTHERS."
The Ninth step has application to two time frames in my sobriety: (1)
people whom I have harmed before my last sobriety date and (2) those
I've harmed since getting sober.
